Position Pay: $11.35 + tips

Hours: Combination of shifts, AM, Mid and PM shifts based on business and events

Weekend coverage needed consistently - If you are looking for weekends off, this is not the job for you

Summary: The Barback is an essential support role that ensures the bar operates efficiently and seamlessly. Acting as the backbone of service, the Barback assists bartenders by maintaining stock levels, preparing bar supplies, and keeping the bar area clean and organized. This role allows bartenders to focus on crafting drinks and delivering exceptional guest service.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 

  1. Keep the bar fully stocked with liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, glassware, napkins, and straws
  2. Replenish ice wells and restock supplies throughout the shift
  3. Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages to bartenders and management
  4. Restock bar items during opening, service, and closing periods
  5. Change empty beer kegs and manage CO₂ tanks
  6. Ensure taps, coolers, and bar equipment are functioning properly
  7. Troubleshoot minor equipment issues or report concerns to management
  8. Prepare the bar before service, including setting up ice, tools, mats, and garnishes
  9. Assist with closing duties, including breakdown, cleaning, and restocking
  10. Ensure all areas are organized and ready for the next shift
  11. Wash, dry, and polish glassware
  12. Clean spills promptly and maintain a neat bar top and work area
  13. Remove empty bottles, trash, and debris from bar and service areas
  14. Sweep and mop bar and surrounding guest areas
  15. Sanitize high-touch surfaces such as counters, chairs, and railings
  16. Handle safety situations such as broken glass or spills immediately
  17. Support bartenders by anticipating needs and responding quickly during service
  18. Assist with running food and delivering items when needed
  19. Help clear glassware and utensils from bar and tables
  20. Communicate effectively with bartenders, servers, kitchen staff, and management
  21. Assist with guest requests and direct concerns to appropriate team members
  22. Support order entry or basic service tasks during peak periods as needed

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 Math Ability:

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

 Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
